Sheridan Acres' currently operating farmstead was purchased in the 1930's. That's four generations farming the same land. Since the original purchase, the family has been a consistent producer of both navy and black turtle beans.
Since then, they’ve been working to tailor their practices to special "heirloom bean" crops and are having a lot of fun along the way.
They selectively plant limited quantities to ensure that they deliver the freshest, highest quality beans for their customers within a year of harvest. Beans can be stored for years; however, they are of best quality when consumed within a year of harvest.
By the time most beans make it to the kitchen they can be 2 to 3 years old. Because none of Sheridan's beans have had a birthday they will cook faster, show more vibrant color, and have superior flavor.
